As of June 6, 2020, Parkwood Church will be open again for in-person worship services on Sabbaths. In order to help keep everyone healthy, we will be taking a number of precautions—as recommended to us by medical, government and church officials. Expect that church will feel different for a while, but that’s ok. Some of our precautions include:
Masks required for all those above 2 years old (please bring your own if possible, though we will have some extras if you have need).
Screening checks for all upon entry (forehead temperature check, screening for symptoms and travel, and instructions for mask wearing etc.).
Continued physical distancing, including in our seating arrangement, entering and exiting procedures.
A simplified church service to reduce person-to-person contact.
We will be open for church only, and will continue offering Sabbath School and prayer meeting online.
We will not have potlucks during these early stages of our re-opening.
Our service will start at 11am. Please come a little early to allow time for our brief screening process.
All are welcome to attend, unless you are sick, have been sick within 14 days, or have come into close contact with illness and may be at risk. If you arrive at church with a fever or sickness, we will kindly ask you to watch the service from home. If you feel that it is unsafe for you to attend our service due to a health issue, or some other reason, you can still catch our live-stream services each week, and join us in the future when you feel it is safe for you to do so. We value all of you, and want to make sure that everyone feels welcome and safe in our church!
